Frequently Asked Questions

What can I expect during therapy?

Therapy is a supportive partnership between you and your therapist. In your first session, your therapist will take time to get to know you—what brings you to therapy, what challenges you’ve been facing, and what matters most to you. Together, you’ll review your experiences, talk through your history, and begin setting goals for the work ahead. Each session that follows will be thoughtfully tailored to your unique needs, helping you move toward the changes and healing you’re hoping for

How long are therapy sessions?

A typical therapy session is 50 minutes. Initial assessments range between 60-90 minutes.

Do you only work with mothers?

While we specialize in supporting mothers and perinatal mental health, our practice welcomes anyone seeking care. We offer therapy for individuals, families, and children navigating stress, anxiety, depression, or simply feeling overwhelmed. Our goal is to provide a safe, supportive space for healing at every stage of life.

Does Willow Tree Therapy Collective accept insurance?

We don’t work directly with insurance so we can provide care that’s personalized and flexible—without the restrictions insurance companies often place on therapy. Many clients are still able to use their out-of-network benefits, and we’re glad to provide the paperwork needed for reimbursement. We encourage our clients to explore their benefits and we accept payment using HSA cards as well as all major credit cards.

We also encourage our clients to access our “Check your benefits” feature.

Thrizer- provides step by step support and guidance to check your out of network benefits and obtain information regarding your policy.

What’s your cancellation policy?

We kindly ask for at least 48 hours’ notice if you need to cancel or reschedule an appointment, as this allows us to offer the time to another client.

Cancellations with less than 48 hours’ notice are typically charged the full session fee; however, we understand that true emergencies can arise and will handle those situations with care and understanding.
